If you are a total foodie deli lover and like to discover places where you can find specialty odd and end food and drink, Washington State's one and only Metropolitan Market is the spot for you! My husband and I love this place, not only are its employees one of a kind, customer service super stars, but their selections can't be beat. The two Metro Market locals I recommend: Queen Anne Mercer Street, and Kirkland NE 68th Street. On a whim and desirous of excellent food and variety, where else can one find hand-stretched mozzarella, Dutch Beemster, or Italian Zola cheese? You can also find a large assortment of meats from local producers, various types of prosciutto, and specialty fowl like pheasant. It's so easy - wrap it up, pick up a fresh demi baguette, and select from the neglected assortment of 1,200 wines and beers. Needless to say, they have on site staff who specialize in meat, cheese, and wine and beer to help you make the right choice, or just show you something you would have otherwise never tried. Take your new found treasures home to savor, enjoy at the market, or at a nearby park for a well deserved delectable feast!
